I can’t believe A Settler’s Passion is finally here. It’s been a long journey and a huge learning experience, one I wasn’t sure I had the staying power to see through to the end. The writing and researching started slowly but as the days passed, I became more and more engaged. I found myself thinking about the story nearly all the time. The characters would wander through my mind, reminding me they had so much more to say.
What I realized most from this journey is that I have SO MUCH MORE to learn. Now as I work on the next book and expand my knowledge of the writing process, I’m able to see the “hiccups” I made in the first book—growing pains, if you will. And while I know A Settler’s Passion isn’t perfect, I gave it my whole heart.
Through it all, I’ve fallen in love with storytelling and while I may never see a Pulitzer Prize on my shelf, I will always treasure knowing you took the time to read my work, and for that I am truly grateful and touched beyond measure.
So, I hope you enjoy spending time in 1611 Jamestowne while reading A Settler’s Passion.
