About Deborah Hocutt
Deborah Hocutt received her bachelor of arts degree from Virginia Wesleyan University and her master of education degree from Regent University. She worked for ten years as a high school history teacher before moving to the Library of Virginia where she served as the Director of Education and Executive Director for the Virginia Center for the Book.
The Virginia Center for the Book is a national affiliate of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress that promotes books, reading, literacy, and the literary life of Virginia and its authors. It seeks to encourage all Virginians to develop a love of books and reading.
After serving in this role, Deborah moved into the field of literary management where she served as the Executive Director of Columbus Rose, Ltd., the management company for New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci. During the decade she held this position, she worked closely with agents, publishers, and the writing community to promote Mr. Baldacci and his vast collection of works as well as serving as his personal assistant.
Deborah currently lives outside Richmond, Virginia, with her husband and daughters.
A Settler’s Passion is her first novel.
